HOUSTON — The Texas A&M University campus closed on Thursday due to fire started around 11:45 a.m. at the near by El Dorado Chemical Co., in Bryan, 100 miles northwest of Houston,Texas,said fire dispatcher Andy Throne, plant blends and packages fertilizer and other chemicals, including ammonium nitrate, a chemical used to make explosives.
No reports of major injuries,but some people have been hospitalized for skin irritation and smoke inhalation.
No explosions had been reported as of Thursday evening.
